The Fancy Bobble knitted baby blanket pattern is a fun but at the same time challenging and satisfying project. It requires some know-how knowledge, like increases and descreases, making bobbles (for this is a videao tutorial), i-cord, slipping stitches etc. That is why I’ve classified thi project as suitable for intermediate knitters. So, if you’re up for a challenge (e.g. making 480 bobbles) and you have already completed some projects that require more skills than just knits and purls, then this is a project for you!

Let me tell you more about this blanket. It has i-cord edges (full description step-by-step in the pattern), and has a pretty wavy shape achived by increasing and decreasing stitches every now and then. Besides there are lots of pretty bobbles, and some horizontal structural patterns from time to time to add variety to the overall visual effect.

The PDF pattern includes written instructions and links for video tutorials on crochet bobbles and elastic bind off. Of course, you can choose to make knitted bobbles. I chose crochet bobbles because in my opinion they prettier and more convenient to make.

This pattern is designed specifically for DROPS Merino Extra Fine yarn and is written for 1 size only: 100 x 86 cm. To complete the pattern you will need 13 skeins of the chosen yarn colour, 4,0 mm circular needles with 80cm cable and a 3,5 mm crochet hook.

Gauge: 10 x 10 cm = 23 sts x 31 rows in stockinette stitch
