The FLW Shawlette is named after the architect Frank Lloyd Wright because of its geometric lines and neutral tone that blends with many different fashion styles. It echos Wright’s philosophy of creating architecture that blends humanity with nature. This is a crescent-shaped shawlette knit from the top down. It begins with a large body of simple garter stitch, and grows to include 3 lace insert sections that naturally pull down when blocked to form a scalloped border. I knit this piece in a whole skein of Madelinetosh Twist Light (420 yards). Because of its long size at almost 8 feet, it is probably best to work with either fingering or DK weight when knitting this pattern. It is 13 inches wide at its center, deepest point. Full written instructions, and also row counts and a chart are included for the lace sections.
