Recommended ease: approx. 3.5-5 cm / 1.5-2” of positive ease at bust.

Notes on construction

The jacket is knit bottom up, starting with the lower body. It is knit from the right edge to the left, and the stitches are put on hold. Then you pick up sts for the upper body from the side edge of the lower body and knit in stocking stitch to the right underarm. You knit the stitches for the sleeve first with some waste yarn, slip it back to the left needle and knit it again with your working yarn. After another 10 cm / 4” in stocking stitch you prepare for the left sleeve in the same manner as the right. To complete the body, you knit in stocking stitch until you reach your size or desired length. Then you pick up stitches for the front hem from the left front edge and work a hem in 1x1 ribbing, this hem also includes 3 buttonholes on each side. You then carefully remove the waste yarn for the sleeves and put the stitches back on the needles. Both sleeves are worked in stocking stitch with a 13 cm / 5” cuff in 1x1 ribbing.

YA: Penny Lane Yarns, Fingering Lane, fingering weight yarn (100g / 400m; 3.53 oz/ 437 yd; 100 % Merino). Colour Dark Night.
YB: Penny Lane Yarns, Kid silk Lane, lace weight yarn, (50 g /425m; 1.76 oz/ 465 yd; 72 % Kid Mohair, 28 % Silk). Colour Corey’s Choice.

Needles
6.0 mm / 80 cm US 10 / 32” circular needles, or the required needle size to obtain the correct gauge. Preferred needles for small circumference knitting (circular or DPNs) in size needed to obtain gauge.
Other notions: 1 BOR marker (for sleeves only), waste yarn to hold sleeve stitches, 2 buttons matching your buttonholes, tapestry needle, blocking mats and pins (optional)

Notas acerca de la construcción

La chaqueta está tejida de abajo hacia arriba. Primero se trabaja la parte inferior del cuerpo. Se teje desde el borde derecho hacia la izquierda, y esos puntos se dejan a la espera. Luego se levantan los puntos para la parte superior del cuerpo desde el borde lateral de la parte inferior del cuerpo y se teje en punto jersey hasta la axila derecha. Primero teje los puntos de la manga con un poco de hilo de desecho, lo deslizas hacia la aguja izquierda y lo tejes de nuevo con tu hilo de trabajo. Después de otros 10 cm en punto jersey te preparas para la manga izquierda de la misma manera que la derecha. Para completar el cuerpo, teje en punto jersey hasta alcanzar tu talla o el largo deseado. Luego recoges los puntos para el dobladillo delantero con el borde delantero izquierdo y tejes un dobladillo en punto elástico 1x1, este dobladillo contiene también 3 ojales en cada lado. Luego, retira con cuidado el hilo de desecho de las mangas y vuelve a colocar los puntos en las agujas. Ambas mangas están tejidas en punto jersey con puño de 13 cm en punto elástico 1x1.

Tensión
17 puntos y 26 vueltas = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 “ tejido en punto jersey EN PLANO con las hebras de ambos hilos juntos, después de bloquear.
