The Four Seasons
A set of seasonally-themed wall hanging decorations, using embroidery hoops as frames.
I used Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK, in the following colours: white, soft lime, shell pink, fondant, sunflower, sky blue, mauve, ivory, leaf, shrimp, wisteria, lavender, poppy, toffee, azure, dove, nocturne, peppermint.
But this is a great stash-buster project, and you could use any DK weight yarn.
I used a 4.5mm hook, and a tapestry needle for sewing in ends.
You will also need four embroidery hoops. I used four different sizes of bamboo wood hoops: 17cm, 20cm, 23cm, and 26cm. If your hoops are different sizes, you’ll need to increase or decrease your foundation row. Each hoop gives you details of what multiple you need for the stitch pattern (eg, a multiple of 6 + 1).
The pattern is written in US terms, with basic stitches and a few special stitches which are explained in the pattern, with photographs where necessary.
Note: this pattern is untested, but should be straightforward to follow
