Have you ever been stuck for the perfect baby shower gift? You know the one; where it is both practical for the new parent, but also brings a huge smile due to it being so very cute? Or when your good friend or family member asks for a hand-knitted treasure for their child?

Introducing the Foxpup Sweater - it is a light, but warm pullover that is cute enough to wear every day. You can choose from the roll-top neck, or ribbed neck, and it is knitted from the top down in the round, before being separated to work the front and back flat and adding the chart for the fox’s face. The sides are then seamed before the sleeve stitches are picked up and knitted.

The sweater is knit in sport-weight yarn so it works up quickly and is a good piece for changing seasons.

Needles: 4mm/US 6 24” circular needle, 3.5mm/US 4 24” circular needle. Alternately you may prefer , 3.5mm/US 4 double pointed needles to work the sleeves.

Yarn: Outlaw Yarn Bohemia Sport (Sport weight / 5 ply; 45% Alpaca, 45% Wool, 10% Possum; 182 yards (166 meters) / 50 grams). Colors used for both sweaters: Arsenic (grey), Bazaar (orange), Earl (tan), Keepsake (purple), and a small amount of black yarn.
For the main color you will need approximately 250 (280,310,340,370) yards, for each of the contrast colors you will need 15 yards of each.

Sizes: 3 (6,12,18,24) months. Chest circumference of sweater measures 17 (18,19,20,21)”. The sweater is designed to be worn with 1” of positive ease.

Notions: Four stitch markers, yarn needle, waste yarn or stitch holders.

Gauge: 24 sts/35 rows = 4 inches/10cm in stockinette stitch on larger needles.
