The Front Porch Sweater
Use code: TheFrontPorch20 for 20% off all DK weight yarn. Code expires 12/31/23
Seamless and knit mostly in the round, with the breeziest cable pattern and the ultimate snuggly fit, this sweater’s the one you’ll be reaching for to keep you warm on brisk mornings. It pairs beautifully with Thought To Thread’s Ritual DK NSW wool and is the perfect accompaniment to a steaming cup of coffee or tea.
We begin by casting on stitches for the back neck and working down the back upper-body. Once the upper back is complete, we’ll pick up stitches for each side of the front shoulders. The front shoulders are lightly shaped with short rows, worked down in the cable pattern, and joined at the bottom of the neckline. The front and back are joined at the base of the armhole and the rest of the body is worked down in the round. The collar and sleeves are both worked by picking up and knitting stitches from the body. We’ll shape the tapered sleeves by working some regular decreases into the cable pattern.
