Garment Construction
This garment is worked in four main sections. The first section is worked flat. In the second section, stitches are picked up along the edges of the garment and worked flat. In the third section, additional stitches are cast on and the section is then worked in the round. In the fourth section, stitches are picked up around the face opening and knit in the round.

Disclaimers/Notes:
This has only been tested in Size 1.

The pattern is written for Drops Polaris held single without the addition of scrap yarns, as seen in my photos. I added in very thin scrap yarn occasionally. For this pattern, I will refer to the black as Color A and the gray as Color B.

This is a rather fitted garment and a very thick/heavy yarn! This garment is perfect for extreme cold weather conditions. You may feel like you have a chunky periscope on your head, but you will be the last one laughing when everyone else has frozen ears ;-)

Required previous knowledge: a provisional cast on method of your choice with waste yarn. You will also need to know how to set stitches on a provisional cast on back onto needles.

Yardage (Sizes 1, 2, 3):

Note: Original garment is a Size 1 and stayed under the estimated yardages for both colors. Yardage is based on achieving perfect gauge!

If using only one color: (80, 98, 117) m / (88, 108, 129) yards

If using two colors:
Color A: (46, 59, 72) m / (51, 65, 79) yards
Color B: (34, 40, 46) m / (38, 44, 51) yards

Yardages with 10% buffers:

If using one color with a 10% buffer: (88, 112, 136) m / (97, 118, 140) yards

If using two colors each with 10% buffers:
Color A: (51, 65, 79) m / (56, 72, 88) yards
Color B: (38, 44, 50) m / (42, 49, 55) yards

Estimated Measurements

Circumference around head: (52, 60, 69 cm) / (20.5, 23.5, 27.25)”
Note: my head is 55 cm / 21.65” circumference at the largest.

I am rather petite/small and am wearing the Size 1. It is fitted with negative ease around the head, positive ease around the neck.
