The Gathering Top
Perfect for wearing with your favourite pair of jeans, the Gathering Top is knit from the top down using a unique, yet simple construction consisting of just two increase rows on the front and back pieces. These shaping rows form small gathers that add a lovely subtle detail to the top. The unique shaping means that the top fits with zero ease at the shoulders, and then gradually widens from the upper down to the mid bust, giving the top an A-line shape which is comfortable and very flattering to wear. The top is finished with a sweet-split hem.
Pattern Notes
The Gathering Top was designed to be worn with zero ease around the shoulders: 0.25” ease for the armhole and 8-10” ease around the bust. For the best fit, choose a size that corresponds to your cross back (shoulder to shoulder) and armhole measurement (see schematic on pg 5.)
