The Gentle Appeal of Soft Pastels
by Patons UK
This is a double-knitting fairisle jumper with mostly plain sleeves. It is the cover design on the source booklet, Stitchcraft No.470, February 1973. It’s featured in the “Jaeger” section of the book, in which the patterns use Jaeger yarn, but the booklet does not state that Jaeger designed the patterns, so they are probably by Stitchcraft Ltd.
The pattern takes 4 x 50g balls in main colour; 2 x 50g balls in each of 2 contrast colours (= ca. 8 x 50g balls total, in the recommended yarn). There are two small charts for the fairisle repeats.
