The Godswood of Winterfell MKAL
“There was something wild about a godswood; even here, in the heart of the castle at the heart of the city,
you could feel the old gods watching with a thousand unseen eyes.” These are the thoughts of Sansa Stark.
Game of Thrones fans! Wrap yourselves in the safety of the Godswood with a beautiful shawl.
Two needle sizes are listed. I knit one sample using a fingering weight and one out of a sport weight. Then I couldn’t decide which one was my favorite, so I’ve listed both yarns! Use only one based on yarn size that you select.
The KAL is over. Now you can purchase the entire pattern!
The pattern includes both written and charted instructions. I have separated them into 2 complete patterns. To save paper and space, download either the Charted Version or the Written Version - or both if you prefer!
Choose either a fingering or sport weight yarn. I recommend avoiding yarns with a lot of variegation as this tends to diminish the beauty of the lace work.
I’ve chosen Madelinetosh Pashmina in the color Tart to represent the leaves of the tree and a second shawl knit using Madelinetosh Sock in the color Silver Fox which brings to mind the trunk of the Weirwood.
I’ve listed this as an advanced beginner or intermediate shawl. The stitches themselves are not complicated, but there are a lot of them and you will need to pay attention.
