The Good, The Bad and The Beanie (and the binkie and the baby)
Because the pattern will have more added later, I want to offer a free pattern with the purchase of this pattern until I get this one complete. When purchasing this pattern , let me know which of my other designs you’d like and I will gift that to you here on Ravelry.
My husband has wanted a knitted poncho based on the one Clint Eastwood made famous in “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” for several years. The larger version will be available in early 2014, for now this pattern contains instruction for a baby poncho, “binkie” and beanie.
I used Armenian stranding throughout the pieces. This eliminates floats and gives a rustic look to the work. It also imparts characteristics of a woven fabric and the work will tend not to stretch and “grow”. You should use the colorwork method you are most comfortable with, but you might want to give Armenian stranding a try, there are a number of good video tutorials online.
The yarn used is light worsted weight, giving a light weight, warm finished product. If you are using a heavier yarn or want to use another color work method, adjust gauge accordingly.
The charts are created on my product, KnitStitch Graph Paper, available in pdf form from patternfish.com - http://www.patternfish.com/patterns/7821
