Stepping off from a picture of the crocheted Pyramid Afghan pattern originally published by Bucilla in the Afghan Book – Vol 54, now out of print, I wanted to create a textured blanket that would have visual colour appeal as well as be challenging and fun to create.

The results are this Expert Knitter/Crocheter pattern.

Not for the novice crafter. Although I have included many photos and detailed instructions as well as charts, this project demands ALL your crochet and knitting skills.

The blocks combine both knit and crochet strips in varying stitch patterns in order to add texture as well as colour to the finished product. Keeping the original palette of colours, anchors the 3D visual effect. Both stunning and mesmerizing. Together these techniques result in a truly challenging interpretation.
