The Great Wave pillow is a pattern from my second book, Gallery. This book is based on iconic paintings by the greatest masters of time, including Hokusai’s Great Wave of Kanagawa- on which this pattern is based. The book is retiring soon; therefore, the patterns are also available individually as a download.

Yarn requirements for this pattern:
Scheepjes Stonewashed, which comes in balls of 50 grams with a length of 142 yards. The yarn exists out of 78% cotton and 22% acrylic. You will need the following amounts:

  • 5 balls of Scheepjes Stonewashed – Color 801 Moonstone (Color A)
  • 1 ball of Scheepjes Stonewashed – Color 805 Blue Apatite (Color B)
  • 1 ball of Scheepjes Stonewashed – Color 802 Smokey Quartz (Color C)
  • 1 ball of Scheepjes Stonewashed – Color 813 Amazonite (Color D)
  • 1 ball of Scheepjes Stonewashed – Color 804 Boulder Opal (Color E)

Crochet hook(s) needed: 4.0 mm crochet hook

Size: The size of the project will be the same as the pillow chosen.

Other materials needed: A cylinder-shaped pillow which is 24 inches in length and has a diameter of 8 inches. This is often used as a yoga pillow.

The pattern contains written instructions guided by a chart. It is available in English (US terms) and Dutch. After purchase, you can download a PDF file in your preferred language.
