The Grid Lines Napkin Ring
The Grid Lines Napkin Ring from THE MODERN COLLECTION
Crisp lines for a fresh look.
A little about grid stripes:
Whether you’re used to seeing grid lines in a spreadsheet, set of blueprints, or even in historical art, ‘the grid’ is no new concept to society. Recently the design has been popping up in interior design and decor as well, adorning wallpaper, bedspreads and linens, drapes, and even tableware. Calling grid lines ‘minimalistic and clean’ can be seen as true, however it’s fascinating how complex and grounding grids can be as well.
This simple yet timeless design can suit most households, pairing with many colors and patterns that already exist in the home. It pairs with stripes, solids, or other accent patterns in your home textiles.
About the pattern:
This napkin ring is knit sideways, featuring grid lines throughout and a black border around the openings of the ring. There is one seam along the back that helps when aligning the table setting. Feel free to set the napkin ring down onto the back seam to have a consistently placed table setting throughout.
To allow for a bit of structure to the project, the napkin ring is designed with an i-cord edge at both openings of the ring. This makes for an easier application and removal of the ring time after time. We also opted for more of a larger width to display the grid clearly throughout the entire pattern. This napkin ring measures 1.875” x 8” / 4.76 cm x 20.32 cm, allowing enough of a surface to display the design and be functional.
