The Halo Headband
About
A sweet little headband to keep you warm. It’s knitted flat in double-knit stockinette, which not only creates a double-thick fabric that keeps out the cold -- it also means it’s completely reversible, so two headbands in one! The beginning and end of the headband are tapered so they fit more easily under the back of your neck, and a button closure lets you take it on and off without messing up your hair. You can use the sparkle color chart, make a solid colored one, or play around with different color combos! A quick, functional little project that’s perfect for mixing-and-matching to use up your yarn scraps :)
Gauge & Yarn
Gauge: 4”x4” (10cm x 10cm) stockinette using US7 (4.5mm): 16st, 24rows
Amount: approx. 75 yds (69 m) in total
Recommended yarn examples:
Cascade 220, Filcolana Peruvian Highland Wool, Berroco Lanas, Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted
or: 1 strand of fingering yarn held with 2 strands of lace-weight mohair (hold these 3 yarns together as if they are a single yarn of thicker weight) - I used KnitPicks Gloss Fingering held with 2 strands of Knit Picks Aloft Mohair for side of one of the samples.
