The Hartney Bay Mini Beanie is an advanced beginner level pattern and is worked in the round from the bottom up. This pattern features cables with a memorable “border” that stands out. It gets its namesake from Hartney Bay in Cordova, Alaska- a rural fishing community with unmatchable beauty.
There are 4 sizes included within this pattern:
0-6 month, 6-12 month, Toddler (1-3 yr.) and Child (4-6 yr.)
You will need:
-0-6 month-Toddler Sizes:US size 13 (9mm) 16” circular knitting needles and DPNs
-Child size: US size 15 (10mm) 16” circular knitting needles and DPNs
-Cable Needle
-Stitch Marker
-Tapestry Needle
-Scissors
-Measuring Tape
-Super Bulky Yarn (Ex: Malabrigo Rasta, Lion brand wool ease thick n quick, Baah Mammoth, or similar)
Note: If you are using We are knitters: “the wool” I recommend sizing needles up for this pattern to US size 15 (10mm)
0-6 month:
47 yds. or 78g of Super Bulky Weight Yarn (Ex: Malabrigo Rasta, Baah Mammoth)
-Head circumference: 13”-14”
-Final Measurements: 6.5” W X 6.5” H
6-12 month:
-51 yds. or 85g of Super Bulky Weight Yarn
-Head circumference: 14”-16”
-Final Measurements: 6.5” W X 7.5” H
Toddler (1-3yr.)
-65 yds. or 110g Super Bulky Weight Yarn
-Head circumference: 18”-20”
Final Measurements: 7.5” W X 8” H
Child: (4-6 yr)
