This hat is knit with a provisional cast on. You work all the ribbing and the top of the hat in one color then you pick up the provisional cast on stitches and knit the lining in another color. When the hat is done you end up with two hats in one as it is totally reversible. The gauge is a bit tighter than the called for with worsted weight yarn which makes the hat very warm.
