This is a nice fitted hat/toque/beanie with a little bit slouch in the back/top.
If you have a ponytail or messy bun, it will fit nicely in the hat, and the hat will still cover your ears and keep them nice and warm.

NOTE that I am a tight knitter, so before you buy this pattern, I would suggest making a gauge swatch first with the smallest needles (you might want to go down in needle size if you are a relaxed/loose knitter). Then go up 2 needle sizes for the biggest needles suggested in the pattern.
