This triangle scarf is worked with a top down construction technique. It uses an extra set of increases at the edge to create its unusual shape. The extended points can be used to wrap around the wearer’s neck. The stitch patterns are reversible.

The main body stitch pattern is created with two rows of knit and two rows of rib. It appears in text and as a chart so the knitter can work from whichever format they prefer. The edging is simple 2 x 2 rib. The pattern is a one skein project which can easily be enlarged by working each section to a longer length.

The stitch pattern is both charted and written in text.

Designer Note: I’ve had this question a couple of times, the question is regarding the placement of the marker when you transition to the 2x2 rib ‘With RS facing, count the stitches back from right hand centre marker in multiples of 4 plus 1. Place a marker. This marker is the start of pattern repeat.’

What you are doing here is establishing the 2x2 rib (groups of 4 stitches) around the centre stitch. You are counting back from the centre stitch to the beginning of the row. The markers are on either side of the centre stitch. The plus 1 is for the kf&b beside the centre marker. I didn’t write the instruction in multiples because you knit to a a length not a stitch count and this allows knitters to substitute alternative yarns and vary the length if they choose to. The counting back keeps the 2x2 rib symmetrical on either side of the centre stitch.
