I’m not even going to beat around the bush here: it’s summer and we all deserve to look hot af. This lacy polo is a blast to knit and the end result is a sexy, stylish top that you will be wearing on repeat all summer long. Worked up in DK cotton, it’s a quick and low-yardage knit that will become an instant night-out staple.

We begin by casting on stitches for the back neck and working down the back shoulders, armholes, and back body. Next, we’ll pick up stitches for each side of the front shoulders and work down, creating our polo neckline. We’ll pick up some stitches along the sides of each neckline edge to form our button placket. We’ll then join the two front-shoulders and the polo button plackets and work our way down the front body. After a quick collar pickup, it’s ~sleeve island~! We’ll shape the tapered sleeves by picking up and knitting into the increases we worked on the front/back panels. To finish the polo off, we seam down the sleeves and body. Weave in those ends and you’ve got a finished polo!
