The Hot Toddy
This sweater was designed for my boyfriend/model, Todd. It’s the first men’s specific pattern I have written, and I think that it is an absolute blast to knit! I hope that you have as much fun knitting this as I did. The boyfriend sweater curse doesn’t apply to this pattern, I swear!
Sizing: Please note that these are the finished garment measurements around the chest of the piece. The model is wearing a size X-large with 4” of positive ease.
X-Small: 38.5”
Small: 40”
Medium: 43.75”
Large: 45.25”
X-Large: 47.25”
XX-Large: 48.75”
Materials:
Yarn: Aran weight wool. I used City Tweed Aran by Knit Picks, but any yarn that meets the gauge should work nicely. 1,182 (1,379, 1,379, 1,576, 1,576, 1,7730) yards.
Gauge: 20 stitches and 24 rows/ 4” of Moss Stitch.
Needles: US8 and US6 both 32” circulars and DPN, or any size that achieves gauge.
Notions: Stitch markers, darning needles and waste yarn.
Pattern:
This sweater is knit in the round from the bottom up, and will split to accommodate the sleeves which will also be knit in the round. This pattern is designed to limit sewing wherever possible. The cable charts are read from the bottom up, and from right to left.
