hygge (noun): a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being…

The Hygge Cowl was designed to be a comfy cozy & easy to wear cowl that you’ll want to grab for day after day.

This fun accessory piece is the perfect layer for extra warmth, whether you’re lounging at home or out and about.

Sizes
Standard (Relaxed) 22.5 (24.25)” / 57 (61.5) cm finished collar circumference

Knit flat in a garter slip stitch pattern to start, the cowl is then joined in the round and worked in herringbone stitch. This pattern uses DK weight yarn, held double throughout, to create a light bulky weight marled fabric.

Suggested Yarn & Requirements
Old Soul Fiber Co. “Soul DK”
100% SW Merino (274 yds / 250 m per 100 g)

Old Soul Fiber Co

  • MC 180 (200) yards / 165 (183) meters
  • CC1 180 (200) yards / 165 (183) meters
  • CC2 60 (66) yards / 55 (60) meters

Sample shown in: Hygge, Rose Gold, and Hundred Acre Wood

Suggested Needles & Notions

  • Needle A - US 10.5 / 6.5 mm, 24” & 32” circulars (main needle)
  • Needle B - US 11 / 8 mm (24”) circular
  • Needle C - US 13 / 9 mm, 16” (24”) circular
  • BOR marker
  • Darning needle & scissors

Note: I suggest using interchangeable needles which will allow you to use a smaller size LHN for the herringbone stitch sections. This will not affect gauge but makes herringbone easier to work.
