The Isis Cloche
This listing is for the PDF knitting pattern of the Isis Cloche, using Needle sizes US 10/6mm and US 15/10mm.
Yarn: about 4 ounce of Main Color (MC) and 2 oz of Contrast Color (CC)
It is a simple pattern that derives its shaping by changing needle sizes rather then increasing stitches. There is still a small amount of decrease shaping happening at the crown, but nothing a beginning novice couldn’t master :)
This simple pattern is especially designed to showcase hand-spun yarn but can be knit up just as well using commercial yarn.
For the ribbed headband I used a beautiful beige colored viscose/silk blend yarn - knitted with size US 10/6 mm needles.
I paired it with a gorgeous one-of-a-kind 3-ply hand-spun yarn where I mixed Lincoln Lambswool and Kid Mohair from Namaste Farms, and plied it with a commercially processed thin raw silk yarn - knitted with size US 15/10 mm
A cute little crochet flower on top gives this hat a nice touch.
The yarns are knitted with bigger needles, so the body of the hat remains lightweight, weighing in at barely 2-3 ounces, and retains its slouchy shape.
Skills needed: cast on, knit, knitting in the round, purl, ribbing, decreasing, sewing on button (optional), crochet (optional)
Please convo me with any questions.
Happy Knitting :)
