Construction
The Ivy Rolled Sweater is worked bottom up with a seamed drop shoulder construction and german short rows to shape the neckline. The sleeves are casted on directly onto the body, and worked in the round.
Yarn
450 (500) 500 (550) 600 (600) 650g 100% Superwash Merino Wool (100 g = 210 yds). Samples knit in Malabrigo Rios
Needles
Size US 8 (5 mm) circular needles with 16” cord and 32” or 40” cord
Size US 6 (4 mm) circular needles with 16” cord and 32” or 40” cord
Sizing
This sweater is written to have 3-4 inches of positive ease, meaning it will be 3-4 inches larger than your widest upper body circumference. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL) XXXL are designed to fit an upper body circumference of 31-33 (33-35) 35-37 (37-39) 39-43 (43-47) 47-51 inches. When measuring length of body and arms while working this pattern, do not flatten out the rolled edge.
The finished products knit in correct gauge measure:
Chest: 35 (37) 39 (41) 43 (47) 51 inches
Length: 17.5 (18) 18.5 (19) 20 (20) 20.5 inches
Gauge
18 stitches x 28 rows knit in stockinette on Size US 8 (5 mm) with Malabrigo Rios after blocking = 4in x 4in (10cm x 10cm).
