This colourful bag is based on The Jackfield Tile Square (pattern available separately here) but can of course be made with any suitable square. Both Jackfield patterns have now been completely updated and revamped, with lots more photographs and clearer instructions.

A simple cover is constructed from three pieces, then permanently stitched to an inexpensive, ready-made canvas base - a fuss-free way of adding strength, stability, shape and handles all in one go.

Instructions are given for DK and Aran/Worsted weight yarn using the appropriate hook. Most importantly, the notes allow for adjustment to fit any gauge, and any size and depth of inner bag, as long as the front panels are square.

These bags are a great way to use up leftover yarn. Decorate them with beads, buttons, tassels, anything - let your imagination run riot!
