The beautiful alpaca yarn used in this vest is ideal for toddlers . It is warm , light and great for children who find wool itchy on their skin or through other garments .

It is a simple pattern for a one to two year old child with a 48 cm chest . Beginner crocheters would find the instructions easy to follow . It is plain except for the cluster up the centre . The front and back are worked the same except for an extra row on one side for the buttons .

It takes two 50 g balls of Adagio Mills 8 ply alpaca . I used 80 g . You need two small buttons and two different size hooks . As there is very little shaping it crochets up quickly .
