The Jeanie Bee pattern is an easy, beginners, amigurumi technique pattern that will take between 30 - 60 minutes to make your own little bee with blushing cheeks.

There are two sizes of bees, the larger using King Cole Yummy in yellow, black and white for the wings. You will also need scraps of pink for the cheeks. The mini bee uses Ricorumi Nilli Nilli in the same colours. Each bee takes around 8 - 10 metres of yarn.

You will also need 6mm safety eyes for the medium bee and 4mm safety eyes for the mini bee (for under 3’s please embroider the eyes) and polyfibre stuffing.

The mini bee is perfect for making into keyrings and the meduim bee is perfect for a bag charm, or just keep it as a cute bee.

This pattern has been written to support and fundraise for Age UK Hull & East Yorkshires Bee Lady Day on May 13th (Jeans birthday). Commemorating the amazing Jean Bishop known as the Bee Lady.

For over three decades the late Jean Bishop buzzed through the streets of Hull raising a total of £125,000, hitting the £100,000 mark at an incredible 94 years of age! Please help support her legacy by making a donation via the links in the pattern if you can.

Join the Bee Happy community and leave your Jeanie Bees around your town in memory of Jean and add the hashtag(s)
