The Joyful Beanie is a toque-style hat. The simple 2-round repeat creates a beautifully textured hat that you’ll love making for yourself, your family & your friends.

The hat body is made in joined rounds using single, double, & triple crochet. You will also need to know how to crochet in the 3rd loop. Photos illustrating how to find the 3rd loop are included in the pattern.
The hat band is made by working slip stitches in the back loop (BLO) to create a stretchy, knit-like ribbing. It is crocheted in short rows then joined together. I’ve added a video tutorial for the slip stitch band. There is also a pattern for an alternate band included in the pattern. Pattern also includes written directions for the Two-Color version of the hat as well as beginner-friendly video tutorials for how to change colors in crochet.

Adult (Small/Medium, 21-22”, 53-55cm cir.) - approx. 170-175 yds, 85g
