The Jumper of Silk
by Leach
The jumper of silk, real or artificial.
Still holds its own, but models in Shetland wool or fine fingering are making a bold bid for popularity. To right and left - a new silk jumper in an open stitch.
Material. -- 3 hanks of “W.R.” Pure Knitting Silk, 2 No 9 Bone Needles, a fine crochet hook
Measurements. -- Length from shoulder 26 inches, with round bust 42 inches, length of sleeve to neck 19 1/2 inches
Note that these measurements are taken with the jumper stretched downwards slightly and it will stretch in width and required.
Tension. -- 6 stitches to the inch.
The jumper is knitted in four pieces - back and front ( exactly alike) and two sleeves.
The Girdle is crocheted with a tassel at each end.
