Looking to crochet a beautiful and unique blanket for a new mother? Look no further! This beautiful tunisian crochet blanket works up quickly due to the yarn weight, but the delicate honeycomb stitch and cables give it an heirloom look. The pattern includes photo tutorials for the Saloniki Rib Stitch and Tunisian Twisted Knit Stitch, links to video tutorials, and photos to guide you through important steps. Don’t be intimidated by the cabling or the border - this intermediate pattern is quick to pick up! Familiarity with tunisian crochet is expected, but not required.

The finished size of this blanket is 29.5” x 33” (75 x 84 cm), including the rolling fans border. However, the length is entirely up to you, and the width can be expanded or reduced by adding or subtracting from the honeycomb stitch and twisted knit stitch sections.

You will need a 6.5mm tunisian crochet hook and a 30-inch cable (or something similarly sized, as long as you can fit a whole row on your hook and cable) for the body. For the crochet border, you will need a 6mm crochet hook.

I used Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek for this pattern, but any worsted/medium weight yarn will work. I used about 5 skeins for this project, but the amount you’ll need will depend on your tension and your desired size. Gauge is not particularly important for this project, since it’s a blanket, unless you’re using a different yarn weight.
