This little knit is a classic bonnet-style hat for babies and wee ones, written for sizes newborn through 3-4 years! It’s worked flat, and knits up quick.

Materials:
Size NB:
-DK weight yarn 70 yds/ 63 m
-US 4, 3.5 mm, size US 3, 3.25 mm straight or circular needles (see gauge for reference)
-US 2, 2.75 mm DPNS

Sizes 6-9 and 12 months:
-Dk weight yarn 90 yds/82 m,
100 yds/91 m
-US 6, 4 mm, and size US 5, 3.75 mm straight or circular needles

Sizes 18-24, 24-36 months, and 3-4 years:
Yarn-Worsted weight 150 yds/137 m
18-24 month needles -US 6, 4 mm, and US 5, 3.75 mm circular or straight needles (see gauge for reference)

-US 6, 4.5 mm DPNS
24-36 month needles-US 7, 4.5 mm, and US 6, 4mm circular or straight needles (see gauge for reference)
-US 6, 4.5 mm DPNS

3-4 year needles:
-US 6, 4 mm, and US 5, 3.75 mm circular or straight needles (see gauge for reference)
-US 5, 3.75 mm DPNS

Gauge:
NB size: 7 stitches/inch or 8 stitches/3 cm
6-9, and 12 month size: 6 stitches/inch, or 2.55 cm.
18-24 month, 3-4 year month size: 6 stitches/inch, or 2.55 cm
24-36 month size:4 ½ stitches/inch, or 3cm.
