IMPORTANT! Please, read the entire description before making a purchase.

The Juniper hat is an incredibly beautiful item crocheted sideways, in one piece, with slip stitches worked in back and front loops. The juniper motif, the crown and the bottom rib are shaped with short rows. This pattern will be interesting for those who want to try new crocheting technique and loves knit-look crochet items.

We start with chaining the necessary number of stitches and work on the right half of the juniper. Then, we work on the bottom rib, and then we work on the left side of the juniper. The right half, the rib, and the left half of the juniper motif together make one repeat. Then, more repeats are worked till we reach the desirable hat size.
Once the last repeat is finished, we work a seaming row joining the beginning and the end of our work. In the very end, the top of the crown is shaped by working 2 rounds of slip stitches and closing the hole.

SIZE ADJUSTMENTS. My hat is made with Drops Cotton Merino yarn, 110m in 50g, or 120.3yds in 1.8oz, and 4mm crochet hook. For my hat, I used 2 skeins, (about 95 grams). I worked 6 repeats and the hat fits head circumference 53-55cm. For a larger size, consider working 7 repeats or using a slightly larger hook or a slightly thicker yarn. Please, note that for a larger size, you will likely need the third skein.

Please, note that the entire hat is worked with slip stitches only! It is a mindful, thoughtful crochet project that does require focusing, especially when you are working on your first repeat. I provide all the necessary instructions on the short row shaping, but you should be ready to try some new techniques and make several samples if necessary.
