Inspired by westerns, actor George Harris thought of his character Kingsley Shacklebolt as “somebody who comes to town … to solve problems.” Harris worked closely with costume designer Jany Temime, suggesting Kingsley wear traditional African Agbada robes embellished with beads, applique, and embroidery. His Nigerian-based cap not only helped keep the bald actor warm but also would, in Harris’s words, “keep Shacklebolt’s power from escaping. He has a quiet strength and wants to keep a lid on it.” A former Auror and an important member of the Order of the Phoenix, Kingsley Shacklebolt works undercover at the Ministry of Magic, providing the Order with important top-secret information.
