I was going to call these “The Kitten’s Mittens” - after all, when you use Cat’s Paw as your lace motif, something feline seems appropriate! - but they kept getting abbreviated, so here are the Kitt’s Mitts.

They are fingerless mitts, worked in the round, with a snugly fitting ribbed cuff, cat’s paw lace on the back of the hand, a plain stocking stitch palm, and a gusseted thumb.

I finally got my sizing right(!) with Spindrift on 2.25mm, which also worked fine for Aister Oo. You can experiment a little with different size needles (and I offer some ideas about this in the pattern) if you need different sizes. Mine measure approx 18cm around at the base of the fingers, and will comfortably fit a hand measuring 20cm around. The rib cuff is approx 6.5cm long, and the mitts measure approx 19cm overall.

I used just over one ball of Spindrift (about 28g in total, I reckon) for my first pair, and approx 40g of my 50g ball of Aister Oo for my second. (Aister Oo is 50g / 142m.) These could be a good stash-buster - after all, who among us doesn’t have a hoard of 4 ply?

I’ve included charts as well as written instructions, and I hope you’ll find these a pleasure to knit and wear, or gift.
