This scarf is an easy introduction to beaded lace knitting. It features a simple leaf pattern, and the sample is knit in green yarn. The combination of green and leaves immediately (and constantly) invokes my friend Kris, who has a mild obsession with both (in a good way). We both love how beads look in knitting, so it seemed only fitting to name the pattern after her.

This scarf is worked from both ends and grafted together in the middle, for symmetry. Each pattern repeat is 10 stitches wide, so the scarf can easily be made wider or narrower by casting on in multiples of 10 (+9) stitches. The scarf is bordered by a garter-stitch band to prevent curling. The last stitch of each row is slipped purlwise with yarn in front, while the first stitch of each row is knit through the back loop to provide a finished-looking edge.
