The Ladies at Ransberg Manor
This shawl was designed for ”Stickstämman i Ransberg 2016” (a knitting event in the county of Värmland, Sweden). The shawl shape is a bent stole which lies better over the shoulders than a regular rectangular stole
With this shawl I would like you to sense the past at the Ransberg Manor, when a woman’s place was at home and handcraft was both a way of spending time, but also a moment of joy, for those that didn’t have to run a household.
The pattern pictures the forest, Sweden’s countryside’s wealth. In the main pattern large trees are lined up and all around the rim there is a line of small spruce trees mirrored in a black pond deep into the woods. I love the scent of sun kissed spruce, picking mushrooms and berries or just hiking in the woods. This shawl is my celebration of the County of Värmland and all the devoted knitters.
