The Language Of Fans Shawl
The Language Of Fans is a rectangle shawl combining the innovative technique of Assigned Pooling with lace knitting for an all-new stitch collab.
Assigned Pooling occurs when a new texture is isolated within a specific color range in a skein of specially dyed yarn. Classic Feather & Fan lace is assigned to the main color to create a backdrop of waves for multiple nupps in a row assigned to the accent color. It’s knit flat in two contrasting colorways; one engineered to work with Assigned Pooling plus one contrasting tonal.
Yarn: 2 skeins of Grasshopper & 2 skeins of Steadfast on Barker Wool BFL Fingering
Finished Measurements: Approximately 20” wide x 72” long after blocking
Needles: US size 5 (3.75 mm)
Gauge: one pattern repeat = 3.75” wide x 1/2” tall. (8 rows per inch) after blocking
Additional Equipment: A scale that weighs in grams
