The Little Black Lace Shawl
This lovely lacy asymmetrical shawl was designed because I wanted a truly elegant lace shawl that could be dressed up to go with that amazing dress for a night out or just for a little pizazz with jeans.
I added the red fringe because I love a touch of red and it adds that little touch of fun and maybe naughtiness to the shawl.
This shawl will look amazing in your favourite yarn, I used a solid and a tonal and loved the effect of both. Try it with a speckled for a bit of fun.
I used a thin 8 ply, so this would work with a thick 4 ply or 5 ply yarn.
The final blocked size of this shawl was 85cm/33” at the widest part x 2m/79” long.
This pattern includes both written and chart instruction. It also includes written instructions with a running stitch count.
However you could make it smaller by using a smaller needle than recommended, or larger by adding another skein of yarn.
My example used a full two skeins of Raxor DK yarn using 5mm needles and 50 grams for the fringe.
When knitting shawls I knit them to the drape I like rather than the gauge suggested. However so you don’t run out of yarn, just to let you know I am a loose knitter.
It is a simple 6 stitch repeat, with some adjustment at the end of the row. But trust me, it’s easy, promise.
This pattern was tech edited and test knitted.
I hope you enjoy knitting my version of The Little Black Lace Shawl and if you have any issues with it please message me through Ravelry. I am homeon15acres.
