My husband’s friend just had a baby girl and I whipped this up for that sweet, new bundle of joy. I love the texture of the middle portion and the lines of the border that you get by working in the back loops only.

You can make this blanket as big or small as you want. Use any yarn and corresponding hook that you would like, start with a beginning chain that is a multiple of 2 + 1 and make it as wide as you would like then repeat row 2 to reach your desired length. Follow the border as specified.

Even though I have this pictured in pink for a baby girl, it would be great for a baby boy too. I’m planning on making one in gray and one in navy for baby boys that are due to arrive soon.

This would even be great in a bigger size for as a throw.
