The Lolita skirt is knitted top down, using 1x1 rib pattern throughout. It is worked in the round to begin with then back and forth to shape the slit. Stitches are then picked up around the hem and a simple lace pattern and LOTS of increases are used to create the frilly edge. Finally pick up stitches to work either folded or double knitted waistband.
