This is a lovely long infinity cowl: you can wrap it twice around your neck to keep really warm against the cold. It uses two skeins of gorgeous hand-dyed worsted weight yarn. Choose two colours that complement each other, and watch the colours work their magic. You need some contrast but it’s fine if there are some colours the same in both yarns.
The two-colour slip stitch sections are super squishy and lovely. Only one colour is worked at a time, so it’s also pretty simple. Knit, purl and slip is all you are doing.
It’s knitted as a tube: you can hide the ends inside without having to sew them in! This does mean that you’ll need to do a provisional cast on and graft it closed at the end if you want the join to be smooth.
It is designed with hand-dyed yarn in mind, but one of my testers made a fabulous version with leftover yarns.
Supplies
2 x 3.5 oz (100g) skeins in complementary colours of worsted weight yarn at least 210 yards (192m) each. Hand dyed variegated or tonal yarns are recommended. If you use yarns with less yardage than recommended you may not have enough length to wrap the cowl twice around your neck.
Circular needles long enough for magic loop.

Scales to weigh your yarn – these are important as the pattern uses percentages for when to change yarns and patterns.
Crochet hook for the provisional cast on
A spare cable and needles for the cast off.

Note: The pattern is worked using percentages. If your yarns are slightly different starting weights or have different yardages, the lengths of each section will not be exactly the same. Don’t sweat it. Close enough is good enough.
