The Lorikeet Fine Lace Scarf
This scarf is an example of fine’ knitted lace’.
It is designed to be knitted from one ball of lace weight yarn, but can easily be adapted to be knitted from heavier yarns too. By increasing the number of motifs, a baby blanket or shawl can be created.
In ‘knitted lace’, the design is knitted in every row, compared to ‘lace knitting’ in which patterned rows alternate with rows of plain knitting. This makes the scarf a bit more challenging than the standard lace scarf pattern, but much more rewarding when the fineness of the scarf is revealed after blocking.
