The Lynette Beach Wrap Skirt
Crochet this simple skirt in no time and wear to the pool, the beach, over gymnastics or dance leotards, or even over leggings! This skirt wraps and ties at the side and is super comfortable and breathable because it is made of 100% cotton yarn. The pattern for girls sizes can be worked up in an evening! The pattern for adult sizes has more of the tighter weave at the top for more coverage.
Pattern Notes:
The chain at the beginning of each row counts as a stitch. Skirt is worked flat in rows and ties are attached at the end. The pattern starts with rows of double crochet and progresses to double crochet v-stitch, treble crochet v-stitch, and double treble crochet v-stitch.
Check your gauge width, 12 dcs = 4 inches. If your swatch is working up larger either decrease the hook size or decrease the number of chains at the beginning. If your swatch is smaller either increase the hook size or increase the number of chains at the beginning.
The pattern sizing allows for about 6 inches of wrap at the waist and a little less if worn at the hips. If you desire more or less wrap in your skirt simply measure and decrease/increase the number of chains at the beginning to match your desired width. Here is the formula
(Desired width of skirt / 4) * 12 = # of chains to start with
