Designed for a dear friend scheduled to undergo chemotherapy & possibly loose her hair. As it happens, she just loves hats :)
Created in her favourite colour using soft DK wool and a fine strand of kid silk mohair. The border of the hat is created using only knit and purl stitches to create a concertina effect and allow for pulling up into a turban type hat. It gives good head coverage for warmth & style. Gauge is 22 sts & 30 rounds over 4 inches or 10cm in stockinette stitch.
The front tab could be knitted in a complementary or contrast colour for a different stylish effect. You will need two 50 gram balls of wool, and one of kid silk mohair.
