The Mary Anne is a lightweight cotton hat, with the pattern written for three sizes.

It is knit from the bottom up and in the round using DK weight cotton yarn & a stretchy elastic yarn (Cascade Fixation) in the brim.

Techniques used are simple 2 color stranded work in the wide brim and an easy lace pattern in the body. Pattern directions are clearly written for the techniques, making them a breeze to follow! Two brim versions are included- one with a plaid “illusion”! A large decorative wooden button accents the whole look!

Wear it to look cool or wear it on a cool summer night, or even a bad hair day & look beautiful! Make it up in Fall colors too! It is flattering on any age! It is also a very popular chemo hat, with the wide brim fitting like a soft hug around the head!

This hat is dedicated to my maternal grandmother, Mary Anne, who immigrated here from Nova Scotia so many years ago!

A great big thank you to my test knitter, SandyHam moderator of the Chemo Cap Pattern Library
and to my tech editor, Bellsistersusan! And of course, to my awesome, beautiful model, Holley
