The Matriarch Scarf
This is my first Published (by no means my first written) pattern!!!! I am so excited to share a piece of my new journey with you !!!
My Grandmother in-law was the inspiration behind this classy and beautiful piece. Creating this for her finally gave me the courage to put pen to paper and begin the publishing process. My Grandmother is the Matriarch of the Michigan based Bass family. She is truly a woman of wisdom, strength and grace. I designed this for her to be able to wear with any type of outfit. It is thick, warm, versatile, and beautiful.
Without a doubt, I encourage you to play around and change up the colors. I want you to enjoy every minute of making this scarf as much as I did.
It worked up in about four hours for me, so i would think it could be completed in a day by most crocheters. If you have questions I am available for contact day or night (see pattern).
This pattern is adjustable in length and width. I have provided ways to make these changes.
The fiber used is Bernat Satin in Camel and Snow, but you could also use Caron Simply Soft or any smooth shiny worsted weight yarn to get the same effect. For the size shown I used almost a full skein of each, so if you are going longer please purchase extra to avoid running out.
Watch for the patterns for the matching hat, ear warmer, and fingerless gloves. They should be available very soon.
I am passionate about the art that comes out of a small hook and some fiber, so please…share your finished work with me!!! After all, that’s a big part of why we write patterns out! I’m sure yours will be beautiful and breathtaking.
All my best and good luck!!!
