This is an intermediate pattern for a baby/child’s sun hat, written in UK terminology. It has a solid top to protect delicate heads from the sun’s rays and pretty lace sides to keep the wearer cool on hot days. There is a very delicate picot edging to the brim, which sets off this dainty hat beautifully.

This hat is made with a wonderfully soft cotton/bamboo mix yarn, and unlike a fabric sun hat it can be unceremoniously shoved into a change bag before dashing out the door without getting it creased!

It is available in sizes 6 month (16 inches) using 4ply yarn, 12 month (18 inches) using DK yarn, and 24 months (20 inches) using aran weight yarn.
