The Meow-na Lisa
Please note that this is a digital PDF download of a crochet pattern, NOT a finished toy!
Note: This is pattern #1 in my Kitties of the Mew-seum series. Patterns will be released throughout 2022, and there will be a pattern bundle available at the end of the year!
While the Mona Lisa is one of the most famous paintings in the world, few people are aware that Da Vinci also painted a companion portrait of her cat! The Meow-na Lisa is every bit as enigmatic as her more popular cousin. Try not to be disconcerted at the way her eyes follow you around the room; she’s unlikely to be plotting anything too nefarious…
Languages: English (US terms) and Spanish
This 16-page crochet pattern contains all of the instructions and photos you will need in order to create your own Meow-na Lisa. There is also an additional 8-page printer-friendly version of the pattern included. The head, body and legs are all crocheted as one piece to minimize sewing where possible. This pattern has been thoroughly tested and proofread to be easy to follow. You are welcome to sell finished objects made from this pattern.
Skill-level: Intermediate
The recommended yarn/hook combo will result in a project ~6 in/15 cm tall. However, feel free to use your preferred yarn/hook combo. Using a thicker yarn will result in a larger finished project. Basic crochet techniques and stitches (magic ring, single crochet, slip stitch, chain, increase, invisible decrease, half-double crochet, double crochet, and working into front/back-loop stitches) are used in this pattern. Instructions are provided for face shaping and the invisible finish/color change.
