The Mermaidia bikini pattern is a made to measure and size inclusive design, this means you measure yourself and then follow the patterns instructions.
You will need any type of 4ply (fingering weight) cotton yarn and a 2.5mm crochet hook. If you prefer to use bikini yarn that has some stretch to it, you can use aliza stretch or nako comfort stretch or any other type of stretchy yarn.
I used roughly 450m for the size XS (UK 6), in 3 colours, I used roughly 300m of the cream, 50m of the mustard and 100m of the brown.
You will also need some elastic (between 2-8mm) which will be placed into the top of your bikini bottoms. I used 2mm for the sample size.
This is an advanced beginner pattern; however, I have provided detailed steps and pictures throughout.
