This pattern is a fairly simple way to start lace work stitches. It uses some yarn overs and some k2tog and SL2tog type steps. It can be worked up with any worsted weight (#4) cotton yarn of your choice. It is written and worked up using a U.S. size 6 knitting needles, however, that can be adjusted to your preferences as well. Just remember using a smaller size needle will result in a smaller, tighter knit dishcloth and larger needles would result in a larger, looser knit dishcloth. I would consider this a beginner pattern, but not a first time knitting pattern. So one for someone wanting to expand beyond simple knit and purl stitches.
